The Pediatric Hematologists/Oncologists team at Riley Hospital for Children is committed to the care of the individual child and family.

Riley cares for 75% of all children with cancer in Indiana. Our Pediatric Hematologists/Oncologists team have more experience treating children with cancer than any other program in the state.

The child with cancer is our primary focus.

Our Pediatric Hematologists/Oncologists recognize the value of therapeutic relationships between the child and family with doctors, nurses, and other therapists.

A deep, existing relationship develops between the child, the family, and the Riley Pediatric Hematologists/Oncologists team.

They accomplish this by:

• Leading clinical research trials which evaluate the usefulness of the most promising therapies;
• Leading and participating in clinical research trials which determine the safety of innovative therapies;
• Performing laboratory investigations to uncover potential cancer therapies;
• Linking lab discoveries with their value in children -- another unique aspect of Riley physicians.

The Hematology/Oncology Section of the Department of Pediatrics provides consultation, diagnostic and treatment services to children with hematologic problems and malignancies. Section members participate in pediatric cancer clinical research through membership in the Children's Cancer Group and its affiliation with the National Cancer Institute.
